Just staring from Moonshine to Beigepaw to the entrance, Spottedkit opened her mouth. Good job, Moonshine, make him leave. What a fantastic deputy you are. Said she in a sarchastic manner, gee, I hope every deputy will be as good as you!

Pebblepaw's eyes widened in fear. Her brother seemed so angry, but for what reason? She shivered, gray and black pelt puffed out. She turned angrily to Moonshine. "You!" she hissed, sounding much, much older. "I love my brother! Yet you put him down and tell him he's a kit for defending his rights! You merely sniffed at Beigepaw, and he was ATTACKING him! I can't believe you cared for us! You are unfair and... and cruel!" she spat, and turned and padded away, black tail held high.

Sunbeam turned to Biegepaw. Come on. We're going to go train. With that, he padded out of camp.

Moonshine let the apprentices bad-mouth her. She didn't care, or at least, she tried not to. Her eyes still held their anger at the fighting amongst the Clan, but inside, she felt horrible. She wished that Gracestar was there to back her up, to tell her that she was right. But she figured that Gracestar probably wouldn't, and why? Because she was wrong. Always was. She'd been wrong ever since the beginning....She watched as her niece and nephew left, then began to pad away.
Eveningpaw watched, confused. Why was everyone so mad? And why so mad at Aunt Moonshine? Her aunt had just tried to show them both what was right in front of their noses. They had been acting like spoiled kits. She didn't get it. Gingerpaw? Was Aunt Moonshine wrong about what she said? I thought that what she said was right. They were acting like kits. But was Aunt Moony wrong about stopping them? I'm confused.

Lynxpaw, who had stayed silent the whole time finally spoke up. I think they were all wrong. Beigepaw never should have verbally attacked us, Swirlingpaw never should have tried to attack Beigepaw physically, and Moonshine shouldn't have yelled at Swirlingpaw more than she yelled at Beigepaw. Pebblepaw was right, she barely even said anything to Beigepaw.

Eveningpaw heard Lynxpaw and looked at her sibling. Could it be that she left the scolding of Biegepaw to his mentor? Maybe she was harder on Swirlingpaw 'cause she thought he should have known better. She could have said more to Biegepaw though....I think that it shouldn't have happened in the first place.....

Moonshine shook her head. She'd heard Lynxpaw, and Eveningpaw. I was wrong. It would have been better to have just let them go at it. But isn't that what deputies are for? To keep peace inside the Clan and help the leader run it smoothly? I thought I was going to be good at this, but now.... She felt like crap. She wanted to go to her brother, but her brother was mentoring Biegepaw!

Snorting contemptuously, Lynxkit asked, And you don't think Beigepaw, who has been an apprentice longer and knowes more about how to act to their Clan members shouldn't know better? We just came out of the nursery... I barely know how to LOOK at other cats, let alone interact with them!

She listened to the she-cat intently. Oh stop Moonshine! Your a wonderful deputy, and yes that's what there for. Those little apprentinces are just brats! YOu are much stronger and wiser to be listening ot what they say! she said, her voice serious and strong.

Eveningpaw had gotten her feelings hurt. You know, you make it sound like Aunt Moony was wrong about everything. She's trying to do what she thinks is right. You know, you're right, Biegepaw should have known better, but Momma raised us to know better than to do what Swirlingpaw did! She turned away, slumping her shoulders and trying to hold back tears. The poor little apprentice was confused, and she'd never really spoken out much before, nor challenged her older siblings.

Moonshine looked at the medicine cat with a weak smile. Thanks, Thrushflower. I just wish I knew what Gracestar thought about this. She purred softly. I suppose I should go find those apprentices...shouldn't I?

It depends if you want to mess with those rude mouths of theres. Thrushflower said calmly. She glanced around the camp, looking at the apprentices. Well I should be off to organize my herbs, Goodbye Moonshine. Thrushflower added softly, before bouncing off to organize her stock.

Moonshine heard Lynxpaw and turned to look at him. She said nothing, just looked at him. He was right, but usually, "old" cats were right when they thought they were in matters like these. She turned once more and padded out, going to find the apprentices that had left.

Eveningpaw looked at Gingerpaw, wondering what he thought. Surely he would know. Or maybe she should ask Momma.....

I think that squabbaling apprentices don't become warriors as quickly. said Indigowind ominously.

For Wingy: Beigepaw cleared his throat. Excuse me he began irritably, but I'd prefer not to be spoken about as if I weren't here. And now, if you'll excuse me once more, I'm off to train. He rolled his eyes for an extra effect then trotted off after his mentor, tail held high as if he were proud about all the trouble he had caused, as if it were he that was the good little apprentice being physically harrased by another. Emberpaw just stared at all the cats. "How could those apprentices be so rude to Moonshine. Then, hearing a kittypet remark, she whirled around to watch Swirlingpaw run out of the camp.Hey eyes burned hatred into the back of his neck, but she let it go. She didn't want them to see how much she still resented her kittypet roots. Then, turning to Moonshine she meowed comfortingly, "Don't worry..They'll get over it. And they have no right to speak to you that way..I'll go find them..."
To: Find Swirlingpaw.
